My art Instagram, the first instance of using “PAPR.Text” as an alternate namesake, works as a platforms to culminate all the various projects I work on from new experimental printmaking, to guided process glimpses and small thoughts on the landscape of contemporary art from galleries and art history, live music and uplifting the music community with visual art collaborations, supporting local businesses, and even tacking to meme phenomenology and internet spaces. It’s been the predominant space for my art to live and to connect with other artists as well as the general public in order to demystify notion of being an artist.
The name “PAPR.Text” comes from the acronym of my primary practice “Painting and Printmaking,” as coined at VCUArts, and my use of text and textures- coming from the root “text” meaning woven. I see it was a way of weaving together all of my interest and various practices.
As an artist in the internet age, I view social media as a tool, and debatably an artistic landscape that is not credited with merit for its role in accessibility of culture and connection.
PAPR.Text serves as an open studio and larger project with elements of documenting completed works, processes, mindfulness, Art History, and performance.
The page has spanned to include pop-up art vending, educational videos, a podcast-style performance series, and guerilla-marketing platform.
